Trigonometry - radians

The measurement of angles in degrees is appropriate for practical calculations involving shapes.

In more advanced aspects of Mathematics, radians are used.

For the angle of a sector of a circle:
 

angle in radians = arc length / radius

N.B. If the sector has radius 1, then the arc length is the number of radians.
