Victoria and Albert Museum in London (V&A) is dedicated to art, design and craft. The V&A has developed a fantastic online image gallery of its collection. The search facility allows the user to search by either free text or by Country, Century and Type [of artefact]. This means that it as easy to find images relating to French 19th Century photographs as it is 20th Century Furniture / Woodwork. This would be a great site for art, applied design or classes undertaking thematic studies including work on other cultures.
